I must admit, I did not really understand the area more than the proximity to the Kennedy Space Center and launches of various rockets! I knew the beach was vast, but the true beauty is hugely underrated! You could spend hours relaxing on the beach, or by the pool, mesmerized by the tranquility of the crashing waves and consistent sea breeze.
