According to Ray Collins, “I’ve anchored the news on TV an average of two hours a day for over a dozen years in my career and won awards, I’ve traveled to three countries covering the news– from death & destruction to glitz & glamour—but I’ve never sat on a couch and talked about anything BUT news, until now. ”
The Executive Producer of the weekday morning show “Daytime” on WFLA, the NBC affiliate in Tampa asked him to guest-host recently along with Cyndi Edwards.
During the program, they interviewed a neuroscientist who spent a week under water for NASA…organizers of a career fair for the LGBTQ community…and actor Jimmy Smits, who appeared via satellite.
In the end, He said he had a nice time working in such a professional environment. He last worked in Tampa TV ten years ago. He said it was a pleasure to co-host with Cyndi for the day.
